Why it works

Two stills become a scene when they cut together. The first shows the place and the danger. The second shows the person inside it. Each line below helps the two frames read as one moment.

Start wide. threading a narrow desert canyon puts the jet between two rock walls. The wide shot shows where the jet is and how little room it has.

Cut to his face. eyes hard gives the close-up one thing to read. A face tells the viewer how to feel about what they just saw.

Jump in size. The jet sits far below the rim in the wide, and the pilot is a tight close-up. A big change in size makes a clean cut. A small change looks like a mistake.

Match the light. The wide has warm gold sun on the canyon rim, and the close-up has the cold blue-white of the sky behind him, with the same warm sun on his visor. When the colors match, the viewer believes both shots happen at the same moment.

Before you run it

Write the same time of day into both prompts. We also tried this close-up after a carrier launch at dusk. The launch was dark and the close-up was bright daylight, so they looked like two different days.

Check where the warm light lands. The pilot prompt asks for amber instrument glow on the mask. The render put warm sun on the visor instead. It still matches the canyon, so it works, but look at what you got before you cut it in.

Use the same settings. Both were made with --style raw --stylize 250 --v 8.2.

To make it yours, write the wide first. Then write the close-up with the same light and the same person, and change only how close the camera is.
