Who Has the Power
How to show who has the power in a room. Two stills, two prompts, Midjourney.
The prompts
Copy them, run them, change whatever you want. No signup.
photorealistic cinematic film still, contemporary drama. A small bare office on an upper floor, white walls, a grey metal desk, one tall window on the left of the frame throwing hard afternoon daylight across the floor, the rest of the room in soft shadow. Two people, both fully in frame, the only people in the room. A woman in her fifties with short grey hair and a charcoal wool coat stands beside the window in the hard daylight, facing the camera, looking down at the other person. A man in his late twenties in a grey hoodie and jeans sits low on a wooden chair in the shadow away from the window, turned half away from the camera, looking up at the other person. Neither of them speaks. Camera at standing eye level across the room, the whole room in frame, shot on a 35mm lens at f/4, naturalist available light, restrained contrast, Kodak Vision3 250D color, fine film grain. The image fills the entire frame edge to edge, no borders or bars. --ar 9:16 --raw --stylize 100 --v 8.2 --relax --no painting, illustration, letterbox, black bars, borders, matte, split screen, diptych, triptych, collage, grid, text

Why it works
These two prompts use the same words. The only change is which person gets which staging: one person stands in the light facing the camera, and the other sits in the shadow turned away. Trade those two lines and the power moves to the other person.
Put one of them higher. In the first prompt the woman stands looking down at the other person. We read the person above as the one in charge.
Put that person in the light. She stands in the hard daylight from the window. The eye goes to the brightest person in the frame first.
Turn the other one away. The man sits turned half away from the camera. We can read her face and not his, so we follow her.
Now trade their places. In the second prompt the man stands beside the window and the woman sits. Every other word is the same, and now he has the power.
Only the staging changed. Height, light and a face we can see decide who holds the room. You do not need a line of dialogue to show it.
Before you run it
Use the same settings. Both were made with --raw --stylize 100 --v 8.2.
Check who is standing before you keep a render. Midjourney sometimes gives the staging to the wrong person. Run it again until the right person is up.
To make it yours, keep the two staging lines and change the people. A parent and a teenager, a boss and a new hire, two strangers in a waiting room. The two lines work for any pair.
